Steeped in rich history, the Britannia Shipyards tells the stories of British Columbia’s oldest shipyard community, dating back to 1889. NGX worked with Britannia Shipyards, a National Historic Site, to create an interactive timeline that highlights the evolution of the Shipyards through time.
The journey starts with the early Coast Salish settlement, and travels to the construction of the original cannery in 1889, all the way to present day. Visitors have the opportunity to explore important events in greater depth, while vibrant and playful animations bring the fascinating stories of the people, buildings, and land to life.
“This small and intimate project allowed us to really express ourselves creatively. And to play a role in bringing important Canadian history to life for future generations was very fulfilling.”
