Washington State History Museum

NGX collaborated with the Washington State History Museum on their absorbing and story-rich gallery, “Washington: Where History Connects Us All”. This permanent history gallery captivates and educates visitors by exploring two key themes: the formation of the landscape that makes Washington unique, and the first traces of humans in the region.

NGX created 5 unique multimedia exhibits for this new gallery: “Shaping a New World”, a dynamic and vibrant interactive map that allows visitors to explore the geological and climatic impacts on Washington via animations and Force Alerts; “Exploring the Clovis Find”, an exploration of objects related to the Clovis cache; “Just a Stone?”, an engaging holographic experience that explores the skills of flint knapping; “A Question of Heritage”, an interactive timeline that allows visitors to explore the events surrounding Kennewick Man/Ancient One; and “Home for Generations”, a story-driven exploration of key archeological sites.

Setting the scene for the entire gallery is a dramatic multi-screen presentation playing a series of vignettes that explore poignant stories related to Washington and its people. NGX created 27 unique vignettes and an attract screen for this presentation that moves people emotionally and makes them curious about what’s to come in the gallery.

The digital exhibits were also on display at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture in Seattle.

“NGX listened to what we wanted to to do, showed us alternative creative paths to those goals, and drew on their experience to suggest preferred approaches.”
