The Story of Medicines at the Pharmaceutical Sciences building at UBC tells the history of drugs in an innovative and thought-provoking way. Located within a state-of-the-art educational interpretive center, a 26 x 7 foot dynamic projection entices visitors from the front door and hooks their interest with engaging facts. The Journey of a Drug exhibit features a ‘choose your own adventure’ module on a 35-square-foot touch wall to explain the science of how medicines work, while The Role of Pharmacy showcases the people of pharmacy and their stories, complete with life-size imagery on a 5 x 7 foot touch wall.
The Life of a Drug exhibit draws visitors in with an absorbing timeline of the history of six drugs that changed the world, from penicillin to birth control to insulin. Two exhibits focus on connecting the school with the community: the Alumni Yearbook presents a digital twist on the typical wall of class photos or printed yearbook, while the Social Media Kiosk allows visitors to share their experience with friends and family.
“NGX truly exceeded our project expectations, delivering creative solutions to our storytelling needs that incorporated state-of-the-art technology and software.”
