An augmented glimpse into the past

Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House
Interpretive augmented reality (AR)

Dubai, UAE

Overview

The Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House—part of the Al Shindagha Museum complex—was once the residence of the longest-serving ruler of Dubai. ngx’s mandate was to elaborate on the established creative vision, bringing the iconic fort to life while respecting its historic identity. As part of the site’s transformation into a museum, we integrated AR touchscreens that encourage visitors to actively engage with the history of the area and its people.

Cultural Integration

To uncover the architectural stories embedded in this historic royal home, ngx built a set of augmented reality viewers. Unobtrusive and integrated into the space, the digital experience features an interactive architectural model, elegant 3D animation, and bilingual interpretive copy that allows visitors to visualize and discover the building’s hidden gifts.
