Take on an ancient challenge

Al Shindagha Museum Children’s Pavilion
Conveying complex ideas through play-based exhibits

Dubai, UAE

Overview

With a focus on kids under the age of six, ngx built an interpretive challenge game that introduces the Falaj—an ancient system for managing water on the Arabian Peninsula. An intuitive interface combines with stylized 3D animation to create a series of gameplay challenges. Young audiences explore complex historical and ecological concepts through play, and the exhibit acts a robust anchor experience for the gallery.

Water for everyone

At ngx, play-based games, such as this, are designed to encourage inductive learning through observations and design prompts rather than reading instructions. The game’s UI design supports a bilingual experience in Arabic and English. And the intuitive interface invites even the youngest of museum visitors to build, maintain, and distribute water from the Falaj.
