Ice Age Fossils State Park
Immersive panorama and interactive exhibits
Las Vegas, USA

Overview
While only 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, the visitor building at Ice Age Fossils State Park—opened in early 2024—is a very different kind of attraction for the region. Visitors immerse themselves in the landscape of Nevada from tens of thousands of years ago when mammoths, sabre-toothed cats, and giant ground sloths roamed around

A Las Vegas Time Machine
Our largest exhibit showcases looping animations of Ice Age flora and fauna projected onto an angled wall. These stunning visuals bring visitors 21,000 years into the past when the now-desert landscape was covered in lush vegetation.
In other exhibits, a digital flipbook displays scientists’ historical notebooks and journals from the 1960s, and a touchscreen game encourages visitors to think about how paleontologists make sense of the fossils they find during digs. How do they identify an extinct species, and when it lived? How do they learn more about an extinct animal’s life through its bones? The experience, as a whole, promotes curiosity and imagination.
