Japanese American Museum of Oregon

From the dreams of many...

Portland, USA

Overview

The Japanese American Museum of Oregon (JAMO) in Portland is charged with preserving and sharing the history and culture of the Nikkei community—Japanese emigrants and their descendants.

In collaboration with JAMO, ngx created a search tool that allowed visitors to look up the locations where families were imprisoned in internment camps during World War 2. Visitors could also view layouts of the prisons and see archive photos from the camps, connecting and learning from the past through future-forward technology.

We’d like to thank our partners, Pacific Studio and Aldrich Pears.
