Royal BC Museum
The Royal BC Museum has no shortage of stories to tell. Founded in 1886, the Museum hosts a rich collection of artifacts, documents and specimens from BC’s natural and human history. In an effort to make these stories more accessible, the museum teamed up with NGX to design and implement a province-wide online learning portal that brings museum and archival materials to educators and students around BC.
This innovative portal consists of an intuitive web-based interface with responsive design that features curated content held at the museum and archives including stories, images, audio and video. The learning portal also includes learning activities, playlists, themes, a timeline, map, and educator resources. A user-friendly content management system was also implemented as part of the learning portal. This is one of the first museum portals of its kind in North America and brings the Royal BC Museum to educators and learners across the province.
“NGX was a pleasure to work with – they were transparent, flexible and engaged with our team at every step. They listened to our feedback and worked to improve the project wherever and whenever possible.”
