Science World – Creative Technology Gallery
Immersive media experience
Vancouver, Canada
Overview
The Creative Technology Gallery at Science World showcases the multifaceted journey that people take to become a creative technologist. The exhibit features large-scale 2D and 3D animations across three rooms—each with an original audio score, gesture-based interactivity, and floor-to-ceiling immersive projections. Using IP from the video game Dauntless, we created the concept for a narratively cohesive three-room gallery that engages audiences with the many paths one can take in the broad field of creative technology.

A Cohesive Narrative Journey
Beginning in the Dream room, visitors step into a child’s bedroom. The walls come alive with animations that transform the space into a forest, underwater, or outer space. Visitors’ imaginations are primed for the experience to come.
In the Build room, visitors arrive at three stations where they can become an Environment Designer, Art Director, or Character Artist for the Dauntless video game. The visitors’ Dauntless creations evolve on floor-to-ceiling wall projections in real time using touchscreen controls that manipulate characters and level elements.
WHAT? Dad look that’s Science World! We’re IN Science World right now!
Child to his father about animation in Dream space
It’s in the Experience room that the world of the Dauntless video game comes to life. In an immersive theatre-style environment, all four walls and the floor are covered in projections that track visitors’ gestures. Reactive elements encourage play and exploration within the dynamic, vibrant environment of Dauntless.
