Jurassic World Exhibition: Augmented Reality (AR) Sandbox To Bring IP to Life

Digital sandbox

Beijing, China

Overview

ngx partnered with Victory Hill Exhibitions on their Jurassic World Exhibition to build an interactive sandbox where visitors could dig for fossils. AR, camera tracking, and projection mapping was used to “guide” users to the fossils that were hidden underneath the sand. Once discovered, the fossil triggered an animated payoff that revealed further information.

Scope Highlights

  • Augmented reality
  • Projection mapping
  • Camera tracking

The sandbox was a huge hit, and bridged themed entertainment with hands-on learning.

Thanks to our project partners: Victory Hill (City Neon)

We constructed a full-size prototype in our Vancouver studio to test and refine the experience.

Each phase of the experience was carefully mapped out.
