Overview

Within the Arctic Gallery—the largest permanent exhibit at Telus World of Science Edmonton (TWOSE)—guests experience the dramatic changes of the Arctic seasons over an entire year. ngx worked closely with the science centre, an Indigenous Advisory Circle, as well as a Scientific Advisory Committee to deliver interactive and immersive experiences that celebrate Arctic peoples and showcase the region’s geography and ecology.

Science for a Family Audience

A key element of this project was to create exhibits that are highly approachable for audiences of all ages. Storytelling, woven through the experiences, include Indigenous perspectives.

We incorporated artwork, animations, and large datasets across a range of exhibit types—from immersive games and interactive maps to captivating soundscape and visual experiences—translating complex scientific concepts into exhibits that leave a lasting impression on visitors of all ages.

Throughout the gallery, visitors journey through a year in the Arctic, shaped by dramatic seasonal changes. Interactive and immersive experiences reveal the region’s geography, ecology, and biology while honouring its ancestral peoples and living cultures.
